Dr. García-Maté developed her doctoral studies in dust x-ray diffraction, including the use of synchrotron facilities to characterize inorganic materials, specifically eco-cements. 

During this period he also stayed at LAFARGE CENTRE DE RECHERCHE in Lyon (France) and the University of Aberdeen (Scotland). 

He has also attended numerous courses of improvement in X-ray diffraction and has gained experience in the use of various X-ray diffraction data analysis programs. 

It also has numerous published scientific articles.
